What Avogadro’s Law states
Avogadro’s Law says that equal volumes of ideal gases, at the same temperature and pressure, contain equal numbers of moles. In other words, volume is directly proportional to the amount of gas (moles), as long as temperature and pressure stay constant.
The formula
The law is expressed as V1 / n1 = V2 / n2, so the final volume is V2 = V1 × (n2 / n1). Enter an initial volume and mole count along with a new mole count to find the resulting volume.
This calculator assumes ideal gas behavior at constant temperature and pressure, and is intended for general chemistry and physics education.
