What this calculator does

This tool estimates the weight of aluminum stock — sheet, plate, or bar — from its length, width, and thickness, using the standard density of aluminum alloy (about 0.0975 lb per cubic inch, or 2,700 kg per cubic meter).

The formula

Weight = length × width × thickness × 0.0975 lb/in³, multiplied by the quantity of pieces. This applies to common aluminum alloys such as 6061 and 5052; exotic alloys can vary slightly in density.

For precise ordering, always confirm the exact alloy density with your supplier, since small variations can matter for large orders.
