What this converter does

This tool converts a swim time from one distance to a projected time at another distance, based on maintaining the same steady pace. It is useful for estimating how a known 100m or 100yd split might scale up to a longer swim, or comparing times swum at different distances.

How the conversion works

The calculator first finds your pace per 100 units of distance: Pace per 100 = (Total Time ÷ Distance) × 100, after converting yards and meters to a common unit (1 yard = 0.9144 meters). It then applies that same pace to your target distance: Projected Time = (Pace per 100 ÷ 100) × Target Distance.

This is a straight pace-based projection and assumes an even effort across both distances. In practice, real swim times are also affected by turns, distance-specific pacing strategy, and fatigue over longer distances, so treat the projected time as a useful estimate rather than an exact prediction.

This calculator is for general training and reference purposes only.
