How this calculator works
Individual sheets of paper are far too thin to measure accurately one at a time, so the standard method (called caliper measurement) is to measure the thickness of a compressed stack of many identical sheets and divide by the sheet count.
Enter the thickness of your stack in millimeters and how many sheets are in it. The calculator divides to give the per-sheet thickness in both millimeters and microns, and also converts that into sheets-per-inch, a figure often used in printing and paper specifications.
Results are only as accurate as your stack measurement; press the stack firmly and measure straight down for the most reliable reading.
