What is the order of operations?
The order of operations (often remembered as PEMDAS or BODMAS) is the standard set of rules mathematicians use to decide which part of an expression to calculate first. Without agreed rules, the same expression could give different answers to different people.
How this calculator works

The calculator first performs every multiplication and division, working left to right, and then performs every addition and subtraction, also left to right. This is the same method taught in schools and used in every standard calculator and spreadsheet.
