What MOA means
A minute of angle (MOA) is 1/60th of a degree, a unit commonly used in shooting to describe angular adjustments on a rifle scope. This calculator converts an MOA value into a physical size at a chosen distance.
The formula
At 100 yards, 1 MOA subtends approximately 1.047 inches. So size (inches) = MOA × 1.047 × (distance in yards / 100). The result scales linearly with distance — 1 MOA covers about 2.094 inches at 200 yards, and so on.
