The formula used
This calculator uses the standard approximation: MAP = Diastolic Pressure + 1/3 x (Systolic Pressure – Diastolic Pressure). A MAP of roughly 70-100 mmHg is generally considered adequate to perfuse vital organs in most healthy adults.
