How this calculator works
Enter your total guest count and choose the table size and shape you’re using, and this calculator tells you exactly how many tables to reserve or rent.
The formula
Tables needed = the guest count divided by seats per table, rounded up to the next whole table since you can’t rent a partial table. The calculator also shows how many empty seats you’ll have left over so you can plan seating charts accordingly.
Actual seating capacity can vary slightly depending on place-setting size, linens, and whether you’re leaving room for a head table or buffet line.
