Pizza Party Calculator
Figure out exactly how many pizzas to order for your next party, gathering, or office lunch so nobody goes home hungry (or you don’t over-order).
How many pizzas do you need?
This calculator uses simple, widely-used party-planning rule of thumb: adults typically eat about 3 slices of a standard pizza, while children usually eat closer to 2. Multiply your guest counts by those slice amounts, add them together, and divide by how many slices your pizza size is cut into to get the number of pizzas to order.
How it works
Enter your number of adults and children, adjust the slices-per-person if your group tends to eat more or less than average, and set how many slices each pizza is cut into (8 is standard for a large pizza). The calculator rounds up to the next whole pizza so you always have enough.
- Hungrier crowds (teens, sports fans) may eat closer to 4 slices per adult.
- Ordering one extra pizza is a safe buffer for larger parties or if sides are light.
This tool is for general party-planning purposes; actual appetite varies by group, event length, and what else is being served.
