What this calculator measures
This calculator finds the absolute risk of an event — the straightforward proportion of a group that experiences it — along with the equivalent odds, which is a related but different way of expressing the same likelihood.
The formulas
Absolute Risk = Number of Events / Total Group Size. Odds = Number of Events / Number of Non-Events. Risk and odds are similar when the event is rare but diverge more as the event becomes common.
