How pie chart shares are calculated
A pie chart divides a circle into slices whose sizes are proportional to each category’s share of the total. Every category’s percentage is its value divided by the sum of all values, and its angle in degrees is that percentage multiplied by 3.6 (since a full circle is 360 degrees).
How this calculator works
Enter up to five category values (use zero for any slices you don’t need). The calculator adds them all up and divides each one by the total to get its percentage share, then highlights which slice takes up the largest portion of the chart.
To convert any percentage into the angle you’d draw on a chart, multiply it by 3.6. This tool is for general educational and planning purposes when building or checking your own pie chart.
