Finding your total savings
When a store advertises a certain percent off, the discount applies to each item’s price. Buying more than one item means both the savings and the total you owe scale with quantity, which is easy to lose track of during a big sale.
The formula
Per-Item Savings = Price × (Percent Off ÷ 100), Per-Item Final Price = Price − Per-Item Savings, and both are multiplied by quantity to get your total savings and total amount due.
