U.S. paper currency weighs approximately 1 gram per bill regardless of denomination (all U.S. bills are the same size and paper stock), while a U.S. quarter weighs about 5.670 grams according to U.S. Mint specifications.
How this calculator works
For paper bills, the calculator divides your total dollar amount by the chosen bill denomination to find the number of bills, then multiplies by the standard 1-gram bill weight. For quarters, it divides the total amount by $0.25 to find the coin count, then multiplies by the Mint’s official 5.670-gram quarter weight. The result is converted to kilograms and pounds.
These are standard reference weights for genuine, uncirculated U.S. currency; real-world bills and coins can vary very slightly with wear.
