How kitten growth works

Most domestic cats reach close to their full adult weight by around 12 months old, though some large breeds like Maine Coons keep filling out until 3-4 years. In the typical first year, a kitten’s weight climbs steadily: roughly half of adult weight by 4 months, and around 95% by a year old.

How this calculator works

Enter your kitten’s current weight and age in months. The calculator interpolates along a typical domestic-cat growth curve to estimate what percentage of adult weight your kitten has likely reached, then divides current weight by that percentage to project adult size.

This is a general estimate based on population averages — breed, sex, and neuter status all affect final size. For breed-specific projections (such as for Maine Coons or other large breeds), consult breed growth charts or your veterinarian.
