🔥 Heat Capacity Calculator

Calculate the amount of heat energy required to raise or lower a substance’s temperature.

kg
J/(kg·K)
°C or K

What This Calculates

This calculator finds the heat energy needed to change a substance’s temperature by a given amount, one of the most common calculations in thermodynamics.

The Formula

Q = m × c × ΔT, where m is mass, c is the substance’s specific heat capacity, and ΔT is the temperature change. A positive Q means heat is absorbed; negative means heat is released.

For general educational purposes; assumes no phase change occurs during the temperature shift.
