What a dilution ratio means
A dilution ratio like 10:1 means 10 parts water mixed with 1 part concentrate. This calculator splits any total volume you need into the correct amount of concentrate and water using that ratio.
The formula
Concentrate needed = Total volume ÷ (ratio + 1). Water needed is simply the total volume minus the concentrate amount. For example, mixing 32 oz at a 10:1 ratio needs about 2.9 oz of concentrate topped up with about 29.1 oz of water.
