How Deadlines Are Calculated

This calculator adds a set number of days to a start date to find your deadline. It can count either plain calendar days or business days, which skip Saturdays and Sundays.

For calendar days, it simply adds the duration directly to the start date. For business days, it steps forward one day at a time, only counting weekdays (Monday through Friday), which naturally stretches the calendar span to account for weekends in between.

This tool does not account for public holidays — for holiday-aware scheduling, add extra buffer days for any holidays that fall within your project window.
