What This Calculator Does
This tool estimates both the amount of concrete needed and the total installed cost for a rectangular concrete driveway, based on its dimensions, slab thickness, and a local price per square foot.
The Formulas
Driveway area is simply length × width. Concrete volume is found by converting slab thickness to feet and multiplying by area, then converting cubic feet to cubic yards (the unit concrete is typically ordered in) by dividing by 27: cubic yards = (area × thickness in feet) / 27. Total estimated cost is simply area × price per square foot.
Actual driveway pricing varies significantly by region, base preparation, reinforcement (rebar or wire mesh), finish, and contractor overhead, so treat this as a rough planning estimate only. Get quotes from local concrete contractors for an accurate price.
