What Charles’ Law states
Charles’ Law says that at constant pressure, the volume of an ideal gas is directly proportional to its absolute temperature: as you heat a gas, it expands; as you cool it, it contracts.
The formula
The law is expressed as V1 / T1 = V2 / T2, so V2 = V1 × (T2 / T1), where temperatures must be in kelvin (this calculator converts your Celsius inputs automatically). Enter an initial volume and temperature along with a new temperature to find the resulting volume.
This calculator assumes ideal gas behavior at constant pressure and is intended for general chemistry and physics education.
