🧍 BSA Calculator – Body Surface Area
Calculate your Body Surface Area (BSA), an estimate of total skin surface area often used as a general reference measurement in health and fitness contexts.
What BSA measures
Body Surface Area (BSA) estimates the total surface area of a person’s body, expressed in square meters. It is a standard reference measurement used in fitness, physiology, and general health contexts because it correlates with metabolic rate more closely than weight alone in some situations.
How this calculator works
Enter your height and weight. The calculator computes BSA using two widely accepted formulas: the classic Du Bois formula (0.007184 × weight in kg raised to the power 0.425 × height in cm raised to the power 0.725), shown as the primary result, and the simpler Mosteller formula (the square root of height in cm times weight in kg, divided by 3600), shown for comparison. The two methods typically agree closely.
Typical adult BSA values fall roughly between 1.5 and 2.2 square meters. This tool is for general educational and planning purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical calculation or advice.
