Belt Size Calculator
Enter your pant waist size (or measured waist) to find the belt size that will fit correctly, since belts are sized larger than your waist to allow for the buckle.
Why is belt size different from pant size?
Belts are traditionally sized 2 inches larger than your pant waist size (or measured waist) to account for the belt threading through loops and buckling with some overlap, rather than being cut to your exact waist measurement.
How this calculator works
This calculator adds 2 inches to your entered waist size, then rounds to the nearest even number, since belts are almost always manufactured in even-inch increments (32, 34, 36, and so on). It also converts the result to centimeters and gives an approximate letter size (S/M/L/XL) used by some brands.
If you’re between sizes, or your belt has multiple adjustment holes, sizing up slightly is usually the safer choice. Different brands and belt styles (dress vs. casual, fixed vs. ratchet) can vary slightly in true-to-size fit.
This calculator is for general sizing guidance; always check a specific brand’s size chart when available.
