What angular velocity is

Angular velocity describes how fast an object rotates or revolves around an axis, measured as the angle swept per unit of time. It is calculated as ω = Δθ / Δt, where Δθ is the angle turned (in radians) and Δt is the time taken.

How this calculator works

Enter the angle the object rotates through in degrees and the time it takes. The calculator converts the angle to radians, divides by time to get angular velocity in radians per second, and also reports the result in degrees per second and revolutions per minute (RPM).

This calculator assumes constant angular velocity over the interval entered. For general physics education and engineering estimation purposes.
