How YouTube earnings are estimated

YouTube ad earnings depend on how many views are actually monetized (shown ads) and the CPM (cost per 1,000 monetized views) advertisers are paying, with YouTube’s Partner Program giving creators an industry-standard 55% share of ad revenue.

The formula

Creator Earnings = (Monetized Views / 1,000) × CPM × 0.55. Not every view is monetized due to ad blockers, skipped ads, or non-monetized regions, so the monetized view percentage matters a lot.

These are rough planning estimates; actual RPM and CPM vary widely by niche, audience location, and season.
