What affects the speed of sound
Sound travels through air as a pressure wave, and its speed depends mainly on the temperature of the air (denser, colder air transmits sound slightly slower than warmer air). A widely used approximation for dry air near everyday temperatures is v = 331.3 + 0.606×T, where T is the temperature in Celsius and v is in meters per second.
