Rounds per Minute Calculator
Calculate the rate of fire in rounds per minute (RPM) from a number of rounds fired over a measured time.
What is rounds per minute?
Rounds per minute (RPM) is a standard measure of rate of fire, used to describe how quickly a firearm, tool, or repetitive mechanical process cycles. It is calculated by scaling a measured count and time interval up to a one-minute basis.
The formula
The calculation is straightforward: RPM = (Rounds Fired / Time in Seconds) × 60. Enter how many rounds (or cycles) occurred and how many seconds that took, and the calculator scales it to a per-minute rate.
Real-world sustained rates are often lower than a short burst measurement because of reloading, cooling, or mechanical cycling limits — this calculator reports the rate implied by the exact numbers entered, for general reference and educational purposes.
