What a recurring deposit is
A recurring deposit (RD) is a savings option where you deposit a fixed amount every month for a set period and earn compound interest on it, similar to a fixed deposit but built up gradually instead of all at once.
How the maturity value is calculated
Each monthly deposit earns interest for the remaining months until maturity, so earlier deposits earn more interest than later ones. This calculator applies the standard compound future-value-of-annuity formula, compounding monthly at your annual rate divided by 12, to estimate the total maturity value across all your deposits combined.
This tool is for general planning and education. Many banks compound RD interest quarterly rather than monthly and may apply their own rounding rules, so your actual maturity amount may differ slightly from this estimate — check with your bank for exact terms.
