What Does This Calculator Measure?

Labor productivity measures how much output (units produced, tasks completed, or revenue generated) is created per hour of work. It’s one of the simplest and most widely used ways to track operational efficiency over time.

The Formula

Productivity = Total Output ÷ Total Hours Worked. Entering figures for a prior period lets the calculator also show the percentage change in productivity, so you can see whether efficiency is improving or declining.

Use consistent units for output (e.g., always revenue, or always units produced) when comparing periods.
Productivity can be affected by factors outside a worker’s control, such as equipment, process changes, or demand fluctuations.
