The parallelogram area formula
A parallelogram’s area depends only on its base and its perpendicular height, the same way a rectangle’s does: Area = base × height. The slanted side length does not affect the area, but it is needed to work out the perimeter.
How to use this calculator
Enter the base length, the length of the adjacent slanted side, and the perpendicular height (the shortest distance between the base and the opposite side, not the slanted side itself). The calculator returns the area and the full perimeter.
Keep all measurements in the same unit of length. This tool is for general math and educational use.
