🗓️ Month Counter
Enter a start and end date to see how many full months lie between them, plus the leftover days and the overall day count.
What this calculator does
The Month Counter finds how many full calendar months lie between two dates, along with the leftover days that don’t add up to a whole extra month, plus the overall day and week totals for the same span.
How the calculation works
Full months are counted by comparing year and month values directly, then subtracting one if the end date’s day-of-month falls before the start date’s day-of-month (since that means the final month hasn’t fully elapsed yet). The leftover days are whatever remains between the start date advanced by that many full months and the actual end date.
This tool is for general scheduling and planning purposes, such as tracking a pregnancy timeline, a lease term, or a subscription period, and treats calendar months as variable-length (28-31 days) rather than a fixed 30-day approximation.
