How the Tip Calculator Works
This calculator finds how much to tip and how much everyone owes by multiplying your bill by the chosen tip percentage, then splitting the grand total evenly across your party.
The Formula
Tip = Bill x (Tip % / 100), and Total = Bill + Tip. When splitting a check, the total is simply divided by the number of people to get each person’s share, and the tip alone is divided the same way.
