What Is the Uncertainty Principle?
Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle states that the position and momentum of a particle cannot both be known to arbitrary precision simultaneously — there is a fundamental lower limit to the product of their uncertainties.
The Formula
Δx · Δp ≥ ℏ/2, where ℏ is the reduced Planck constant (≈1.0546 × 10⁻³⁴ J·s). This calculator computes the minimum possible momentum uncertainty for a given position uncertainty, and the corresponding velocity uncertainty for a given particle mass.
