Electric potential is the amount of work needed to bring a unit positive test charge from infinity to a point near a charged object, without acceleration. This calculator finds the potential from a point charge.
The Formula
V = k × Q / r, where k is Coulomb’s constant (≈8.9876 × 10⁹ N·m²/C²), Q is the source charge, and r is the distance from the charge.
